Tracey presented ‘Project You’ to our Dean’s Future Leaders cohort. Her message was a simple, but powerful one. Everybody has choices in how we choose to live and work and that we should strive to live and work how we want to be remembered, not based on what (we perceive) others think of us.

Two things stood out. The first was before Tracey even presented. Her preparation was meticulous. She really took the time to understand the cohort and the objectives of our Dean’s Future Leaders program. The second was how Tracey wove into the narrative learning from her upbringing in rural Victoria, her 30 plus years at Ernst & Young and her transition to ‘Tracey 2.0’. Tracey showed how the choices she had made in her life, could serve as an example of how our cohort might relate the ‘Project You’ contents to their lives. Tracey was extremely generous with her time in answering myriad questions about her time at Ernst & Young, both in the Q&A session and at lunch following the session. Many of these questions went beyond the ‘Project You’ contents.

Tracey led an engaging and insightful workshop for the EY London Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Manager and Senior Manager group, marking the grand finale of our first series of career development workshops. During this “Project You” session, Tracey explored the significance of understanding oneself, one’s motives, values, and beliefs as we look ahead to our own professional development. Her authentic experiences brought the “use cases” to life, making the session both relatable and inspiring.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the collaborative development aspect, which allowed us to seamlessly integrate the next stage of our career development journey. Focusing on “Project You” laid the foundation for exploring our own behaviours and drivers. This was instrumental in thinking about personal growth and ambitions, as well as in planning deliberately for building a personal network, be it internally or within our client network. The workshop provided us with the much-needed space to reflect on our personal needs and how our behaviours impact other aspects of our corporate (and personal) lives, particularly in building a network. The intention is to build on this successful workshop in the future.

Tracey did an exceptional job in highlighting the linkage between understanding oneself, building purpose, and living one’s values. Her ability as a personal storyteller had us laughing and challenging our thinking from moment to moment. Her global experience and authenticity reinforced the idea that we are in control of our own choices, and understanding these choices is fundamental. The session was not only motivating but also actionable. We all left the room with practical analogies and reflections. It made us think about how we align our engagement with our values and behaviours, emphasizing the human need for engagement.

We were so lucky to have Tracey come and present to a group of our high-potential senior managers on the power of building and maintaining connections in their day-to-day work through the delivery of her ‘Super Connectors’ program. Tracey provided a wealth of simple, actionable advice and tips for how our people can nurture and build relationships to become trusted advisors for existing clients, whilst also sharing her experience and suggestions for how this group could make an impact and forge relationships quickly with potential new clients in a pursuit setting. The session was high energy, fun and practical for the audience, and the feedback afterwards was overwhelmingly positive that participants had taken away a number of helpful tips and a bit of extra confidence and motivation to go and start investing in their connections.

Having spent many years hearing positive things about Tracey as an EY Partner and following her from afar, when seeing her venture to “Tracey 2.0” I knew that I had an opportunity to make a positive impact at a pivotal point of my career.

I first met Tracey Waring as Deputy CFO and Executive Director Corporate Services at Monash University. From that very first interaction, I was struck by her professionalism, depth of expertise, and her ability to ask informed questions to gain in depth knowledge of the issue presented, and make even the most intricate concepts seem simple and accessible. When presenting, Tracey is able to simplify the issue and make the challenge interesting, she motivates the audience to be confident, understand the complexity and to not be afraid of it.
